• About nnind Incubator

  • nnind Incubator Program

Twice a year nnind invests seed money in a selected number of startups.

The startups move to Silicon Valley for 12 weeks, during which we work intensively with them to get the company into the best possible shape and refine their pitch to investors. At 11th week we will hold a Demo Day, when the startups present their companies to a carefully selected, invite-only audience.

During incubation period, we hold sessions for our startups with experts in product design, user growth, MVP, KPI, analytics, financing, Legal and Venture Investment. Many of them help to advise our startups.

nnind incubator doesn’t end on Demo Day. We and the nnind network continue to help founders for the life of their company, and beyond.

  • How nnind Work ?

We provides seed money for startups. Seed money is a form of securities offering in which an investor invests capital in a startup company in exchange for an equity stake in the company. The term seed suggests that this is a very early investment, meant to support the business until it can generate cash of its own, or until it is ready for further investment. Seed money pays your expenses while you’re getting started.

For new startup, we invest $40,000 for a 8% equity stake post money, valuating at half a million. For team who has a working product or has done substantial work, we are open to discuss. Please indicate so in your application.

Some companies may need no more than seed funding. Others will go through several rounds. How much money you need depends on the kind of company you start.

Seed capital can be distinguished from venture capital in that venture capital investments tend to come from institutional investors, involve significantly more money, are arm's length transactions, and involve much greater complexity in the contracts and corporate structure accompanying the investment. Seed funding involves a higher risk than normal venture capital funding since the investor does not see any existing projects to evaluate for funding. Hence, the investments made are usually lower (in the tens of thousands to the hundreds of thousands of dollars range) as against normal venture capital investment (in the hundreds of thousands to the millions of dollars range), for similar levels of stake in the company.

At nnind incubator, our goal is to get you through the first phase, where you’ve built something impressive enough to raise money on a larger scale. Then we can introduce you to later stage investors.

  • What happen at nnind Incubator ?

The most important thing we do is work with startups on their ideas. We’re hackers ourselves, and we’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how to make things people want. So we can usually see fairly quickly the direction in which a small idea should be expanded, or the point at which to begin attacking a large but vague one.

The second most important thing we do is help founders deal with investors and acquirers. Yes, we can make introductions, but that part is easy. We spend much more time teaching founders how to pitch their startups to investors, and how to close a deal once they’ve generated interest. In the second phase we supply not just advice but protection; potential investors are more likely to treat you well if you come from YC, because how they treat you determines whether in the future we’ll steer deals toward or away from them.

  • How much does nnind invest?

We have a base deal - For new startup, we'll invest $40k on a post-money safe in return for 8% of the company when the safe converts. That effectively values your startup at half-a-million. For team who has a working product or has done substantial work, we are open to discuss. Please indicate so in your application

The seed investment aims to fund startups through the 12-week incubation to build your first MVP (Minimal Viable Product). In addition to seed money, we provide free co-working space at our incubator. We faciliate networking with a group of mentors and advisors to help you to succeed.

  • Do we need to submit a business plan?

Not for us. We make funding decisions based on your application data and team interviews. We love demos, but we never read business plans.

  • Will you sign an NDA? How do I know you won't steal my idea?

No, we won't sign an NDA. No venture firm would at this stage. The informal commitment to secrecy on our application form is more than any VC would make.
